Edna O'Brien's very interesting novel, WILD DECEMBERS, exposes less than good relations between Joseph Brennan and Mick Bugler - "the warring sons of warring sons" - is set in Western Ireland. The author has a gift of brining human emotions to life -- and one feels the land of Ireland, the Irish spirit (even humor at moments) in this great story-telling.
